I can't believe it's August. This year is flying! It's a good time to check back on your goals and reevaluate them. Are you still working towards the same goal or have your interests changed? What do you want to accomplish by the end of the year? And then work backwards to make checkpoints with realistic time restraints (or see how realistic the goal is).
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Better Fit Nurses is conducting more research in understanding the risk factors that Nurses face regarding Work Related Injuries. We are looking for Nurses to fill out a personal survey regarding their health and lifestyle. So if you are an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PCA, NP, PA, or a nursing student, follow the link and take the 10 question, 2 minute survey.
The second part of our research is:
SCREENING NURSES MOVEMENT
We are also looking to put as many nurses as we can through a functional movement screen (FMS). Being certified in FMS, we will be screening Nurses for functional movement through 7 basic movement patterns. We will give verbal cues to direct you and you will complete the direction as best as you can. Movement will be assessed and scored. These scores are directly related for risk of injury.
Not only is the test a good indicator to understand how this person moves for our coaches, but it can also be incredibly helpful to the participant. We find that people discover things and tendencies about themselves by exploring how their body moves.
